Do you know the role of paper recycling in protecting the environment?
-
Recycling one ton of waste paper prevents the cutting of 17 trees, the consumption of 1450 liters of oil, 7,000 kilojoules of energy, 27 cubic meters of water and the occupation of two cubic meters of land for landfilling, which means 28% energy savings and 58% less water consumption and finally less air pollution.
-
Recycling one ton of waste paper not only prevents the cutting of 17 large trees, but also, this cycle results in a 75% reduction in air pollution, 50% reduction in energy consumption, and 90% reduction in water consumption.
-
For the production of one ton of paper, about 40 cubic meters of water, 1,300 kilowatts of electricity, two cubic meters of wood and a large amount of gas are consumed.
-
For every kilogram of recycled paper, one kilogram of new paper can be produced. This process not only helps to protect the environment, but also makes the produced paper to be 20 to 30 percent cheaper.
-
4,700 tons of waste paper is produced daily in the country, and if this amount of recycled paper is put in the recycling cycle, the destruction of 22 hectares of pristine forests will be prevented every day.
